COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Eleventh Labor is our ode to Hercules, whose pursuit of apricots proved just as successful as our own in using the sought-after fruit to brew a Berliner Weisse - a sour German wheat beer traditionally served with fruit-flavored syrup to balance the tartness. But we moved beyond the formulaic base to make it our own, fermenting it with house-made yeast cultures and fresh apricot puree for a subtle sweetness and mellow stone fruit aromas. The style is low in hop bitterness, slightly tart, and refreshing, with a cloudy, light golden appearance. The low bitterness and approachable alcohol content won’t overwhelm the palate or deny you from having more than one.

As a continuation of our Ibex Series, the Eleventh Labor is the first to be sold outside our breweries. We’ve brewed a select amount, so the release is limited - with distribution of small quantities in kegs as well as 750 ml bottles, which are filled, wax-sealed, and stamped by hand.

Our name for the Ibex Series grew out of Schlafly Beer’s original logo (featuring the wild goat), which was inspired by the crest of Steinhof, Switzerland, where founder Tom Schlafly’s great grandfather was born. But while our logo has evolved, we still hold this iconic animal in high regard, using it to brand our most coveted and innovative releases.

750 ml thick green waxed bottle poured into a tulip. Bottle #1186 bottled on 10/7/2015. Aromas of lemon lime citrus, a little funk, some white wine. Tastes of lemon lime citrus, tart acidic notes, apricots and stone fruit. Light body with a dry and slightly tart finish. Tasty apricot berliner, held up really well after almost 2.5 years.

750 mL bottle. Bright orange and hazy. Smells of nice apricot. Just a bit of vegetal grassy aroma. Light acidity. Has a nice apricot flavor as well. Still has that green flavor. Moderate sourness. Not quite the standard berliner profile. Medium light body. Nice flavor, except for the vegetal flavor.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2018 Bottle... Pours hazy and golden with orange highlights and a small, brief, white head. The aroma features apricots, wheat and low levels of welcomed funkiness and acidity. Medium-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is moderately sour and bright, featuring a ton of delicious, juicy apricots. Finishes crisp, tart and tangy. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

Very nice. Cloudy orange pour with nearly no head. Aroma is sour and farmhouse like. Taste follows nose with a tart bite and some apricot sweetness. Liked it.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a hazy gold with a quickly fading off white head. Aroma of apricots and lemon. Flavors of plastic. A bit disappointing given the $20 bottle price.
