UPDATED: DEC 30, 2019 First beer from these guys is enjoyable. Not an overly funky sahti, which I like. The juniper is there, some nice malt flavors. overall a tasty beer.

mansquito (12992) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUN 8, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2019 Exploding bottle at share: pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is lightly smokey, cedar, berry. Taste is malty, a sour note, light smoke. Unfortunately, our bottle was over carbonated and the mouthfeel was reflected as such.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2019 Bottle at share, exploded on wall. Pours dark brown. Raspberry, cherry, smoke, biscuit, citrus, earthy. Wildly overcabonated. Odd.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2019 Deep, dark brown appearance with a tan head. Aroma of pine, juniper berries, toasted oak, earthiness and dark malty notes. Similar flavor, rich and dark with a smooth bittersweet balance. Light to medium body with a soft feel and a pleasant finish. Interesting and unique.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2019 Bottle many thanks to wchesser for this really appreciate. Saw it made it to City Hops in NYC I would of flipped my lid randomly getting this as a regular of there. Anyways reddish pour huge foaming head. Does have a kinda traditional look other than sudsyness. Nose is juniper light bread. Tastes juniper, red fruit, blackberries, barrel, earth hint of wheat bread. Tasty brew for sure, it’s been a few years since my last authentic sahti but the overall profile seems close although lacking the heavy banana bread.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2019 Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle from shrubber85 pouredibto a glass. Dark brown with big beige head. Aroma is herbal, medium/light body, well carbonated, and some lacing. Taste is wood, chocolate, and some juniper. Easy drinking, but not real flavorful.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2019 Bottle: (courtesy of my brother, Shrubber85 who undertook a day long journey just to obtain this.) Pours dark, reddish-brown with a smooth tan head. Toffee, green banana, juniper aroma. Taste is slightly sweet old banana, juniper, dark, semi-roasty malts. Nicely bodied for being so light....very good....I wish there were more of this style available to be able to speak intelligently as to it's level to style.....I'll just say, I really like it.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2018 One of the Scratch bottles dropped on Denver over GABF week this year. Murky brownish gusher. Nose is light, fresh pine, caramel malts. Taste is ever so tart on a malty core, medium body. Flavors of caramel malts, pine needles and sap. Really reminds me.of Anchor's Our Special more than anything but without any spices. Really good and balanced.

trapped (6399) - New York, TURKEY - OCT 11, 2018
Bottle, from City Hops. Pours reddish dark brown with very large spongy beige head, spicy caramel aroma, fizzy, lightly bitter caramel taste with pine like juniper flavor, smooth thin body, oily mouthfeel, long finish with juniper aftertaste. Very smooth to drink, feels like you've been chewing juniper pods.

shrubber85 (13675) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - FEB 1, 2018
Bottle (only a short 3.5 hour drive to get sahti #10). Banana, orange, juniper, and buttery toffee malt aroma. Very dark brown with large tan head. Moderately sweet banana, buttery toffee malt, and moderately bitter juniper flavor. Nice body and great balance. Not nearly as sweet as the Finnish Sahtis I've had but nice phenol presence. Very pleasant.
