COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspe is a blend of blond Missouri Wild Ales that were fermented entirely with our Missouri cultures and aged in French oak until maturity. At maturity, a blend was chosen and then moved on top of more than 4,000 lbs. of Decker Farms Oregon Red Raspberries in one of our American Oak Foedres from our friends at Foeder Crafters of America. The result is a lively, jammy, vibrant beer that showcases the quality of the fruit that was selected and the maturation time of the whole process to produce Raspe. For reference, we used as much Red Raspberries in Raspe as we used Black Raspberries in Fencerow!

Sergey's hunt, tasting at Ryan's, bottle
Cloudy red colour. Strong raspberry aroma. Horribly sour, aggressive, completely unbalanced, wit some sour raspberry juice. Amazing lack of class.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2021 375ml bottle @ Ryan's. Pours a hazy raspberry red colour with a thin white head. Nose is tart raspberries with wild yeast funk. Flavour is tart raspberries with a tangy acidity. Light bodied, good carbonation, and a mild sweetness with a moderate acidity.

beerplace (6389) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2021
UPDATED: APR 1, 2021 375ml (thx, Brent for proxying and Matt for helping with the border crossing) shared @ Ryan's. Appearance: hazy purple with a white head. Aroma: tons of raspberries with some residual sweetness, some seaweed notes on the back. Taste: along the same lines, very nice raspberries in here, but it's very acidic. Overall: another acidic bomb, despite having a very nice raspberry character.

pictoman (3080) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2021
UPDATED: APR 1, 2021 Poured from 375mL bottle. Pinkish red with small white head. Tart raspberries with a hint of kelp? (not quite but close in flavour)

mcberko (34280) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2021
UPDATED: APR 1, 2021 375mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark reddish pink with a small white head. Aroma reveals tart raspberries, wild yeast, and an awkward seaweed note — I swear that’s not just me; other people here got the same. Flavour is nice upfront, with tart, fresh raspberries upfront, but the finish is quite strongly acidic. There’s not a lot of complexity to this, but the raspberry character is nice upfront at least. Good, but nothing special.

ctipping (3902) - Florida, USA - FEB 15, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2021 375 mL bottle. Red with no head. A few bubbles. Smells of raspberry and raspberry acidity. Tastes sour, then raspberry, then more sour. Aggressively sour. Really sour raspberries. Low carbonation. It's a genuine raspberry flavor at least. But it's way too sour.

JaBier (12380) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - NOV 22, 2020
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2020 Blend 2 bottle enjoyed with friends on 11/10/20. Hazy pink pour with no head. Aroma of malt, funk and raspberry. Malty and funky flavor with raspberry character before a sour and sharp fruit finish.
