Beese (12774) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2020UPDATED: APR 6, 2020 12oz bottle from Thriftways, Portland, OR and drunk on 03/08/2008. Sierra Nevada doing what they do best; big, bold, bitter West Coast and very nicely balanced.
margus7 (899) - ESTONIA - MAR 21, 2020UPDATED: MAR 21, 2020 0,355 l bottle. Good IPA, a little bit overcarbonated but aroma and taste are good
bpreo (3745) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - FEB 2, 2020UPDATED: FEB 2, 2020 40th Anniversary Ale. I thought to myself, 'Wow, I had no idea Sierra Nevada has been around since the 1960's. Then I read the label, they began in 1980. Where did the time go?
PhillyCraft (11988) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2019UPDATED: JUN 6, 2019 Bottle in 09 or 10. Amber orange with medium head. Notes are pine, florals, orange, apricot, and spice. Strong bitterness and a lighter to medium body on this IPA
Jabah (2479) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - APR 19, 2018This is a good all-around beer. Nothing really "wows" me about this, but at the same time have no complaints. I like it better than SNPA. Recently tried their 2009 Harvest Fresh Hop, and liked that better than this but was also more $$$. Has an dark yellow-orange appearance. Aroma leans toward grapefruit. Good balance of malts and hops. Bought as a single to sample, but this is something that I would try again.
Bitterbill (2959) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 26, 2017From Aug 2007
Purchased at Poplar Wine & Spirits in Casper for ~US$9.00
Pours from 12oz bottle a clear amber with a good head of foam that shrinks quickly leaving some spotting near the center of my glass and it has some lacing.
The smell is hop dominated at first but further whiffs in, I can smell some good sweet malt...nicely balanced nose.
The taste follows the nose to a T. Nice hop presence that is slightly grassy, slightly citrusy and put them together and they make for some good hop bitterness but...this IPA does not neglect the malt at all. Good malt sweetness, along with some bread, balances the hops *very* well and the end result is a very tasty, drinkable and yeah, *balanced*(did I mention that yet ;^) IPA that I can and will enjoy more of soon. There are plenty of other IPAs out there to enjoy if I want a good(read Big) hop kick. The more balanced ones....they're kind of a rare breed in Casper so you'll excuse me if I show some prejudice to this example by Sierra Nevada. I think it's very good stuff!
john44 (4634) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2017Bottle. Clear Deep Gold in colour. Intense zesty citrus hoppy bitterness and a little malt. Sour grapefruit, grass, herbs, earthy. Crisp and refreshing. Lingering dry citrus bitter finish. Nice! (2008)
BeerRenter76 (1097) - Texas, USA - JUL 15, 2016Originally rated on 9/22/08. Anniversary ale poured a deep copper body, with good carbonation that lead to a thick off white cap. Aroma was pleasent with a strong floral hop presence similar to their pale ale but a little stronger. Flavor was a disappointment, a long lasting, overwhelming bitterness that overpowered the floral notes. Maybe my batch was old, who knows, i am not sure if i would try it again.
