This beer was shockingly good. Don't let the lousy blue label fool you. It's got a nice deep hop aroma, a tad rough on the palate, but a nice smooth finish.

Schnabelhund (152) - TAIWAN - OCT 31, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 31, 2021 Sierra Nevada Porter pours a beautiful dark brown color with a medium-sized beige head. It has a fat and malty nose with notes of cocoa, coffee, caramel and dried dark fruits with contrasting bright floral and fruity undertones. The attack is rich, darkly malty and flavorful, is followed by a mid-palate with tones of molasses, roast, and floral undertones which in turn leads to a roasty dark chocolate and coffee finish with a smoky touch. The flavors are well-rounded and easy yet satisfyingly complex. A rich and pleasing brew.

Demens (813) - Budapest, HUNGARY - SEP 23, 2021
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2021 0.355l bottle. Very deep ruby, almost black colour with long lasting, stiff off-white head. Aroma: Caramel, dark chocolate and coffee with a hint of matured cheese/yeasty/funky notes. With some time a forest fruity tone appears. Taste: Has a sweet malty and fruity start (blueberry and blackcurrant) with a gently tarty feel and a medium strong bitter mouthfeel. Very well balanced beer. Has a softly oily texture. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Medium lasting pleasent dry/bitter finish with a malty coda.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2021 Friday 19th Feb 2021; Family Beer Festival, three of us sharing a random selection of cans and bottles in my home bar. 355ml bottle; packaged 9th Oct 2020. I was really looking forward to this and had saved it until last. Sadly I found it wanting, looked fine, the aroma and taste as expected (dark brown, beige head, malty in nature); but the body was thin and 'watery'. I've loved their hoppy beers, but this was a surprising let down for me.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2021 Bottle at home, 18th February 2021. Supposed to be in San Diego, but sat home, watching a virtual sales kick off with a Californian beer. Pours a thin looking dark brown liquid. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate. Taste is dark and roasted malts, bitter cocoa, thin mouth feel, it’s smooth and pretty pleasant. Nice classic porter with hops.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2020 Bottle brewed 8 months ago (beyond advised taste period) in 8 pm at hall. Poured like typical porter with fleeting brown head. Smells good, refreshingly alcoholic and chocolate. Palate very smooth, nice beer! Nice stuff in this freezing Beijing winter.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2020 Found out of bottle from Ingles in Franklin, North Carolina. Pours a solid dark brown with off white foam. Great aroma. Solid and heavy flavor throughout.
