Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

I just noticed that this was a lager ... that explains a lot. I'm not a big lager fan. I guess this wasn't bad for a lager, fairly smooth, kind of dry and all and all pretty bland. A friend of mine just asked me today "Hey, do you think Summerfest is a beer worth picking up again for this evening?" to which I promptly replied "no".

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2020 Golden pour, effervescent fizz. Grassy hop notes but not a strong aroma. Sweet malted barley is the predominant flavor. Some crisp clean water and more grass hop notes in the finish. Tangy bitterness is subdued intentionally, so if you were reaching for an IPA you'll have to look elsewhere. Some salinity and a fairly bittrr bite. Fresh and clean, better than your standard lager but not a standout by any means.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2020 Was expecting a little more coming from Sierra Nevada. Kinda tasted like a Miller Lite. Might taste better by the pool or at the lake.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2020 Golden, transparent colour. Little to no head retention. Tastes like lager. No off notes, but with a fruity quality which is not what I particularly look for in this style. Not overwhelmingly hopp on the front end, which is nice, but with a very bitter hop finish. A nice beer, but not the best craft lager on the market.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2020 Light yellow pour. Head dissipates rather quickly with moderate carbonation. Aroma isn't overly hoppy to me, perhaps more like a roasted corn. Taste is mild sweetness with a crisp bite. The hop undertones are there, but not at the fore-front, waiting until the finish. Rather limited bitterness. Smooth yet fizzy. A slightly more substantial body than you may expect. Once again, nothing overwhelming here nor offensive. Drinkability, though I wouldn't necessarily seek this out over other alternatives.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2020 2020 vintage pours clear yellow-gold with a trace of white head and lacing, lots of carbonation rising in glass. Aroma: floral, cereal. Flavor: Corn Flakes, lemon, toast, honey, white pepper -- along with a prickly hop and carbonation tingle on the tongue as it finishes. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied with a somewhat creamy finish -- yet still crisp and refreshing. I'm not a big fan of lagers and summerized lagers, but this one is quite good.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2020 Bottle. Pours bright clear gold. Cereal, bright lime, lemon, grapefruit zest, bit of earthy hop spice, clean finish. Medium body. Nice.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2020 Bottle poured into a pilsner glass. Clear gold with lots of bubbly carbonation and a white head. Aroma is a little funk and pilsner malt. Initial taste is pilsner malt. Fades to the same. Unoffending. Very standard if this is your thing.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2019 Clear gold. Pretty white head. Aroma: good malts, additional American hop. Medium body. Taste: clean malts, hops, a strange suspicion of weizen yeast. I hope I'm wrong.

k.szczypior.2002 (164) - POLAND - AUG 10, 2019

Jabic (983) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 1, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2019 Ar: Hay and grainy malt; dried roses and dried herbs; slight biscuit. Ap: Pale gold and slightly hazy; large white head with very good retention, slowly dropping as a cap of air foam with a tiny curtain of lacing. T: Fresh crackers; black licorice, black pepper, and dried-herb hop notes; a bit of chalk; clean fermentation profile; a hint of toast; bitterness is medium-high; more crackers, bitters, and black licorice on the finish. M: Light body with very high carbonation; firm and steely; very dry finish. O: A well-made summer lager; big hop bite, but very European-tasting at the same time; fresh and delicious.
