Garrold (9483) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 9, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2020 Bottle, from the BXL pack. Pours a deep mahogany brown. Light tan head is dense, messy, lasting, and semi lacing. Looks well. Nose has coffee chocolate. Stewed dark fruit. Liquorice. Rich roast malt. Taste is really well balanced sweet liquorice, with earthy, roast malt and coffee bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel belies the ABV. Nicely slick with fine carbonation. Bitterness increases on the finish and lingers an age. Very nice.
