UPDATED: JUL 4, 2021 Bottle of 33cl, in a Tulip glass; from the fridge. Drinked @home. Old note, for counting purpose only : nice strong chocolate taste.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2020 Bottle (G1217 Best Before 120221) pour from Fort Point Market, Boston. Appearance is opaque inky black with nice viscosity, no sparkle, many light floaties, less-than-finger-width beige head fading to a ring and no lacing. Aroma is baker's chocolate, earthy roasted malts, wood. Taste is chocolate, lactose, wood. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, nice feel; taste and aroma follow each other and are pleasant enough but neither decadent nor terribly complex for the style.

dojken (1538) - SWEDEN - APR 9, 2020
UPDATED: APR 9, 2020 Burk i soffan!

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2019 At Jabeerwocky in Warsaw, on tap. Black color with a medium tan foam. Nose: peppermint and herbs with a soft milky chocolate. The mouthfeel mirrors basically the nose and tasted ok.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2019 Obtained at La Bodega from Riverside, California for $6.99, Caribbean Chocolate Cake is an ale with cocoa nibs, lactose, and aged on cypress wood crafted in collaboration between Siren Craft Brew and Cigar City Brewing. The scent of cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, and lactose are noted while you drink. The appearance is pitch black that pours a low tan head. When held up to light, no light shines through. The alcohol content is 7.4%. Cocoa comes across roasted and resonates with the roasted malt body. Coffee packs a moderate bitter take and textures the mouthfeel. Lactose smoothens the complexion and eases the weight. Cypress compliments the lactose tone. Coconut provides an underlying timbre to the lactose and cocoa body. Lemon brightens the cocoa and malt comprehension. An orange hue is notable with the lactose. Tamarind accents the cocoa, coffee, and lactose finish. Caribbean Chocolate Cake is an amazing collaboration. The roasted cocoa nibs, lactose, and cypress body makes this a unique beer. The lactose and coconut combination is fully experienced from the finish. I loved drinking this brew as it is wonderfully complex. Take your time so you can savor every element to this ale. Cheers. Prost. Drink for the love of beer. For more beer reviews, visit and like my blog “Drink For the Love of Beer.”
