Canned and Keg - new recipe for 2019. This collaboration with Cigar City Brewing is one of our all-time favourites. colui72 (3437) - Yuen Long, HONG KONG - APR 6, 2020
UPDATED: APR 6, 2020 This is a pretty beer, with a dense black body, tan head and gorgeous lacing. Roasted barley on the nose, leather, soy sauce, roasted cocoa. Tastes very roasted as expected, bitter (in a roasty way), chocolatey, woody. No room for frills, no pastry sweetness. Lingering roasted flavours that stick in your palate. Smooth, awesomely smooth, creamy. I'm in love again!

Towey1989 (5546) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2020 Keg at Beerdock Leek. A black colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of chocolate, cakey malts, some cinnamon, cocoa, slight wood and subtle orange peel. Taste of cinnamon, cocoa, cakey malts, slight liquorice, wood, coffee, a hint of roasted malts, orange peel and subtle chilli spice. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A sweetish, spicy and cocoa finish. Not as cakey as the Death By but yeah, makes up for it in spice.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2020 Can from Siren Tap Yard, 5th January 20. Pours a decadent rich looking black beer. Aroma is chocolate, wood, barrel. Taste is delicious, smooth, rich, coffee, dark and milk chocolate, wood, aromatic. This is a lovely stout, maybe even better than the original recipe.

mR_fr0g (23876) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2020 Can at home picked up from Brewdog Tower Hill. An oily deep black brown coloured pour with a rich dark tan head. Aroma is big rich, woody roast, cakey malts, ashy, some spice. Hint of dungy roast on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rich layered meaty roasted malts, biter ash, umami, salty roast, liquorice, burnt cocoa. Long lingering bitter choc roast. Palate is lush, semi sweet, oily, fine, moderate carbonation. Really rich and layered. Lovely.

Smithld1 (946) - Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2019 Can. Excellent stuff. First class. Subtler than the death by chocolate version but very smooth still, very well balanced. A sophisticated heavy hitter.

tmdaines (705) - Stretford, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - DEC 27, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2019 Really high quality chocolate stout. Possibly the most chocolatey beer I have had. Rich dark chocolate dominates the most. Also notes of tobacco, a hint of spice and rum. Very little roast and dry finish. Loved this with some chocolate and pear panettone.
