UPDATED: FEB 9, 2021 Clear brown with a small off white head. Medium carbonation and clear lacing. Aroma: Raisins, plum, brown sugar, malt and caramel. Taste: Very sweet but also boozy with a cloying aftertaste. Sticky mouthfeel. Not a good balance on this one

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol and hint of dried fruits. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, caramel and dried fruits. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2020 Large bottle from meny, caged and corked. Opened with a carbonation pop, but no spillage, color is clear chestnut brown, ligght brown head. Aroma is nutty and boozy, mild malty notes. Flavor is malty, cellary, syrupy dark fruity, sort of in the right direction of barley wine, but feels a bit like they used some spices or additives to get at this flavor, not fermentation and basic ingredients. I bought this bc i felt like tasting a classic strong barley wine, and i feel a bit out of luck, as it tastes like a very very strong ale or lager, perhaps a strong polish lager, and not so much like a classic strong barley wine.. If you don't like the maltiness and sweetness of barley wine you might like this one though...

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2019 750 ml corked & caged bottle, as Skovlyst Stag Brew Barley Wine MMXVI, from NETTO Hjørring. ABV is 12%. Mahogany colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, molasses and caramel, hints of cooked celery and other cooked vegetables. Warming mouthfeel. Sweet and malty flavour, notes of caramel, dark dried fruits and mild spices, moderate hops.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2019 Flaska 75cl. Mörkbrun färg med röda nyanser vid kanterna. Ett finger högt vitt skum. Arom av russin, aprikos, karamell och en aning humle. Tyvärr en lite för spritig arom. Smakar ungefär som den doftar. Till en början söt med en medelstor munkänsla. Väldigt lång och besk eftersmak. Alldeles för obalanserad för min smak och verkligen en medelmåttig Barley Wine. Rekommenderas inte.
