UPDATED: DEC 30, 2021 Very hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall, pure white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of citrus fruits, grapefruit, flowers and a good wheatie note with a hint of flowers and some bitterness from the malts. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong crisp and very citrusey flavours with a lot of orange juice and mango notes here along with some richness from papaya or pure melons with a sweet finish that has more sugars than bitterness from alpha acids, making it purely 'new school'. Aftertaste is rich, fruity and balanced well, with a lot of malts and a crisp floral bite towards the end that brings out a good complexity, but the richer malts and especially fragrant fruit notes are the strongest here. Overall, a nice and balanced IPA that tastes a bit richer and stronger than the 6 per cent that the can indicates, but well worth it and perhaps better off than most in the style and in the family (of relatively low alcohol IPAs from Sloop). I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bryant Park, 42nd Street), New York on 20-December-2021 for US$3,99, canned on 28-October-2021 (Batch #1379) sampled in my hotel room and on the streets of New York on 20-December-2021.
