ganache (6721) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 28, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2021 Six-pack of cans from Cook's Liquors in Westmont. Nose of brown ale, roast and earth with subtle chocolate and hint of nuttiness. Pour light-to-mid-brown, almost amber at times, but collects to chestnut; foamy and noisy tan head. Taste starts lightly sweet but dries significantly, lightly tangy, very mild bitterness. Lightly nutty with attendant very light astringency, hint grainy, strongish vanilla but not dominant, zero raisin or even fruit flavor, this one all about the roasted grain character, malt here but a little flabby and straightforward. Medium body and repeatable, no alcohol presence (to their great credit), moderate to low carbonation, rounded but lightly astringent bitterness in the finish and long aftertaste. I actually quite like this but not as the advertised dessert beer, rather as a daily Brown with something of the North of England in it. [2021.11.28: 3.3]

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2018 Deep amber brown color. Brown sugar and corn syrup aroma. Taste has a tiny bit of dark fruit, some minor spices, but not yeasts, and ends in a overly ripe plum. Medium palate. Would never have thought oatmeal raisin cookie. Tap at brewery.

Draft at the brewery. Reddish, beige head, spotty lace. Sweet aroma and flavor that have definite notes of the namesake cookie. Nice mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Growler from Spirits Unlimited in Brick, NJ. Translucent reddish brown color topped by a moderate frothy khaki head. Sweet toasted malt aroma has notes of cinnamon raisin bagels. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor has notes of cinnamon, dark raisins and burnt toast. Some vanilla notes, though subdued. Somewhat thin bodied, though flavorful. All in all a decent effort.

PhillyCraft (11988) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2015
Draft at Mile, pours dark brown almost black color with small to medoum off white head. Random lace. Aroma is spot on: cinnamon raisins, lift chocolate, malt, and vanilla bean. Flavor is dissapointing with a sour apple or sour licorice thing noticed up front with some dark fruits and light roast. Lighter bodied. It’s not awful but a far cry from cigar city oatmeal raisin cookie back in the day
