UPDATED: AUG 5, 2021 From tap at the brewpub in Bamberg 05.08.21. Clear mahogany amber. Fine beige head and lacing. Inviting and well-balanced aroma and taste of bonfire, smoked sausages, medium dark malt and noble hops. Sweet malt and noble hops are lingering on, with smoked sausages in the background. Good!

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2021 50 cl bottle @ home. Pours clear dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour are caramel, subtle smoke, malt, and a hint of metal - with a dry finish.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2020 Nice brown colour with a slightly off white head. Aroma of smoke, caramel. Taste is light smoke, caramel, mushroom. Smooth, medium carbonation. Good stuff.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2020 On tap at Spezial. Deep orange lasting white head. Caramel, malty, some light sweetness, light bitterness in finish. Smoke is moderate. Smooth. Not too much smoke. Medium bodied.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2020 Copenhagen 16/9 2020. 50 cl bottle from Mikkeller web-shop. The label is yellow-ish is made out to look like old paperwith the name in gothic letters. Pours unclear dark amber with a small white head. Settles as flimsy, thin remnants of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with a prominent scent of smoke with a peaty touch. A bit of fruit. Sweet red apple. Light carbonation. Thin, watery, almost flat texture. Flavor is moderately intense followed by a light saltiness. Aftertaste is moderately bitter. Lingers for a bit. Semi-dry finish. Fine peaty nose but a bit thin.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2020 Clear brown. Aroma is smoke caramel ham some roasted almond and deep melasses. Taste is sweet caramel with dense umami smoke and caramellized sugar. Also a decent amount of bitterness. Drinkable and rich. Maybe i like smokeds now?!

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2020 Drank on brewery Spezial in Bamberg, clear red-brown beer with very nice long stable light dark white head, smell and taste is here also smoke, not sweet and not bitter, good balanced beer and the smoke is dominated, not hoppy, avarage carbonation, medium body and texture, perfect,

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2020 Brown with a thin, frothy head. Campfire aroma, toffee, plums. Taste is bittersweet with the sweet malts very nicely offsetting a smokey, roasted bitterness. Medium bodied with enough chewiness to keep things interesting. Good!
