Christpuncher (3215) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 16, 2016Excellent for style. Little fruity and pretty hoppy. Pours reddish brown with almost no head. Poured out of a bomber.
ryecatcher (1632) - Beverly, Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 13, 2016Bomber. Deep, coppery amber color with thin, off-white head. Nose is orange peel, caramel, wood (cedar), faint vanilla, and alcohol. Mouth is sticky, sweet upfront, quickly segues into bitterness, lots of candied citrus peel, peaches, some orange marmalade, toffee, malt, toasted bread, soap. Finishes warm and boozy. Improves as it warms up. Had the BA version on New Year’s Eve. I actually prefer this one by a hair, only because the subtleties aren’t masked by the bourbon part.
