ClarkVV (9063) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 10, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 Draught at Jack's Abby, 1/9/22. Lightly hazy, soft, lime-tinted hay-golden with a small, white head showing low retention. Easygoing lime and mango in the nose with a bit of bubblegum and a mix of both honey and cracker-like malts all come together to provide a good balance, with no weird/off notes, booze or twang. Enigma hops here add varied fruitiness, almost cherry-lime and are soft and ebullient. Not an incredible strength of aroma, by any means, but what's there is pleasant. Soft and lightly juicy, with plentiful bubble gum-like ester, though falling short of being dominant/problematic. Instead, cherry, lime, mango pick up and provide a juicy complexity with light, but mostly ample bitterness throughout. Soft, well-attenuated malts are lightly sweet, mostly cracker/biscuity. No booze or flaw. Easygoing and very drinkable, getting more complex and fruity with warming. Not going to mistake this one for, say, Trillium or Tree House, but it's well-done nonetheless and enjoyable, if perhaps a bit light for its abv strength.
