omhper (33492) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 13, 2021
UPDATED: APR 13, 2021 Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Clear nut brown, coarse head. Aroma of dates, caramel and marzipan. Mid sweet with full body and soft mouthfeel. Dark bread and marzipan meets peppery calvados and salmiak. Drier warming mid bitter finish. Elegant and complex.

Sammy (17445) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2021
UPDATED: APR 12, 2021 The king of quads, pure, like a barleywine. The ageing on this helped the calvados mature to perfection.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2021 Bottled 750ml (vintage abt 2013, PET sessions)
Nut brown colour, medium-sized beige head. Fermented raisins, dates, some Calvados in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Raisins, dates, apple, Calvados, some alcohol. Mellow, semi-sweet. Aged perfectly in Patrik's cool cellar. Great beer.

KyotoLefty (14291) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 2, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2021 Bottle from a trade. Waited 7+ years to try this. Nose is apples, caramel, raisins, fudge, orange. Bit apple / calvados on top of the lovely old St. B 12. Clear dark brown with a thick, low head. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, molasses, apple brandy, spicy yeast, raisin, fig, dried plum. Finish is oak. Absolutely not cloying. Still nicely carbonated. Fantastic all the way. Love it.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2020 750ml corked bottle. Caramel malt aroma with notes of toffee, dark fruit, bready yeast, oak and vanilla. Pours dark caramel colored with a large toffee brown head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with sweet caramel, toffee and dark fruit flavors as well as having a rich, full body and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with bready yeast, oak, vanilla and some booziness. Really nice quad.

Alpha10 (1528) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 30, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2020 2020/03/30 - Pours a murky amber-brown colour with a foamy, off white head that slowly reduces and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is bready yeast, toffee, herbal notes, figs, plums, raisin, vanilla and oak. Taste is sweet bread, herbal notes, oak, dried dark fruits and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium with smooth carbonation and a long oaky, herbal, warming finish. Very nice, but not as good as the original.

DraftWhisperer85 (357) - Tongerlo, BELGIUM - OCT 19, 2019

azzurro (1954) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 1, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2019 Trade-in from a friend who bought this a while ago from l’Office des grands crus, shared with my teammates at friend’s pool party in between our games, fabulous beer, very privileged to have tried this.
