COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2021 A pack of 4x33cl bottles from the carrefour supermarket in Ypres. Roughly £1.10 a bottle!! Poured it in England when I got home. Have to say it's quite a pleasing Belgian Bruin possibly not as good as Leffe Bruin but a good taste all the same.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2021 33cl bottle from a local Kaufland store drinking 23/09/2021 BB 19/09/2022 Pours an unclear reddish light brown with a large long lasting beige/brownish creamy head and ok lacing. Aroma of malt, intensely yeasty, winey, fruity, toffee and caramel, raisins and molasses, dark fruits - pretty nice. Taste is intense, delicious and really balanced in sweet and bitter with malt and bread, yeast, caramel, toffee, light chocolate, raisins and licorice, some light spice, anise and cinnamon, good warming alcohol at 8.5% that completes the taste and seals everything. Quite complex and interesting taste but really pleasant, warm and easy to drink. Quite dry and round, balanced and tasty. Medium bodied, smooth slightly oily/creamy texture and soft to medium carbonation. Really really great delicious dubbel.

Gangstergafje (2697) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - JUL 13, 2021
UPDATED: JUL 13, 2021 13-12-2021; bottle; at home (bought at an unknown location). The looks of the beer are nice. It is a dark amber brown beer with a nice reddish glow and a nice haziness. On top there is some frothy almond floured foam. Foam retention is average, but some nice lacing is left on the edge of the glass. It looks good. The aromas of the beer are nice. The malts give caramel and some toffee. There are some nice toasty notes and some candy sugar. There are nice notes of licorice in there too.Hops are earthy and robust, with some herbal notes. Belgian yeast gives some spicy notes, but also some fruity touches. It is a pretty straight forward Belgian Dubbel, but well executed. The taste is also nice. Sweetness from the malts and alcohol is balanced by a hoppy bitterness and some toasty bitters. Some savory notes and some acidity from yeast brings balance to the beer, resulting in a beer that is pretty well balanced. The mouthfeel is also quite good. Full bodied, with a smooth texture and medium carbonation. The finish is filled with some nice caramel, earthy hops and licorice, al bound together by warming alcohol. All in all, this really is a nice Dubbel. Nothing out of the ordinary, just nicely done.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2021 Melanoidyny dominują w smaku i aromacie. Jest też fajna, lekka paloność, kawa, przyprawy, suszone owoce. Ciało średnie, wysycenie wysokie. Wszystko się zgadza, bardzo dobry Dubbel.
