harrisoni (24178) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 9, 2020
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2020 Bottle from Dranken Vande Woude and drunk at home. Clear amber dark colour lasting beige head. I rather like it. Not super sour but good enough. Some sweet malt like caramel. Some surness on finish. Lemon finish. Light salt and vinegar character on finish. Good.

kepano (310) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 15, 2020
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2020 Orangy gold pour, nice simple head. Smells exactly like saffransbullar. Like, exactly. And that’s pretty much the whole thing. Some minerality to it. It smells too simple. The flavor is a bit more interesting, but not by much. Again saffron is the dominant note, with the tingle of sour green apple candy on the tip of the tongue. Dry apple cider notes in the aftertaste. Sour + saffron is not a combo I would have expected, and frankly it doesn’t work great. It lacks the complexity and funkiness I seek from a good gueuze. There are many better ones out there.

janubio (1628) - SPAIN - JUL 8, 2020
UPDATED: JUL 8, 2020 Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served at home in a flute glass. Copper color, medium head with short retention, no lacing. Aroma or grapes, ripened fruits, a bit of acidity, maybe apples. Medium body, fruity texture, flat carbonation. A bit sour finish. Taste is a bit tart, grapes, fruits. Simple, one is enough.

Idiosynkrasie (13823) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 19, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 19, 2019 375ml bottle [courtesy of Kölschtrinker - thanks!]. Clear, pale amber colour with some tiny chunks floating around, small to average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head on top. Tangy, woody, and fruity aroma, notes of white and blue grapes, some nutmeg, oak, a touch of gooseberry and kiwi fruit. Taste is sour, dry woody, minimally tangy and fruity, hints of oak, white pepper, a diluted touch of vinegar. Watery texture, slightly astringent palate. Quite well balanced, a bit restricted, narrow. OK.
