The_Osprey (10582) - WALES - MAY 3, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2021 St Mars of the Desert Quadruple 8.8%, 440ml can at home in Twickenham. BB May 2021 and consumed that month. Dark red brown, clear with a big foamy tan head, thick lacing. Aroma of gluey apple, damp bread, McDonald's apple pie, wood shavings, some clove. Body is rounded, quite mouth-filling with tingly carbonation. Taste is malt-forward, the carbonation and spiciness cut through the malts, clove and red apple, a little salty on the finish with lingering spice and well integrated alcoholic warmth.  A very nice full dense breadiness. I'm probably being a philistine but for me this is better than all the classic Belgian quads - Westvleteren, Rochefort, St Bernardus etc. This one has better drinkability, roundedness and alcohol integration. It's not my favourite style but this is the best example I've tried for my personal taste. Possibly as good as the style could be for me. (7-5-9-3-17=4.1)

jarvo (1347) - Abingdon, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2021 Poured an unclear murky brown with a small off white head. Aroma of brown sugar, banana, some hints of clove. Tastes sweet banana, caramel, burnt sugar with a hint of spice. Maybe lacking a bit of the complexity and heft that I’d look for in the style.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2020 Can thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep amber with shades of red. Tan head. Nose - toffee and light prunes. Taste - prunes and stewed apple. Toffee. Palate - creamy and medium to full bodied. Sweetish finish with a tangy thing that somewhat clears things. Overall - good, if a little light for a quadrupel.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2020 Pretty ace, this is right in the sweet spot for sweetness, rich, caramel, raisiny depth withoutbecoming unapproachably strong.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2020 Can at home, from HOTM online, 13/12/20 ... 2nd half just kicked off Citeh 3-0 B&HA. Light murky tones to an extremely dark mahogany brown pour with a well presented tan head ... you'd be tricked into thinking this is a stout ... off black almost. Nose is dried fruits, toffee, light spice, nutty, dates, light phenols, clove, yeast esters, nip of alcohol. Taste comprises figs, burnt caramel, brown sugars, fruit cake mix, light spice, trace of nana esters, dark malts. Medium bodied with bite, fine massaging carbonation - stellar mouthfeel, light warming booze at the curtain call. A top top draw Quad ... great balance, never to sweet, boosty but balanced with some dark malt qualities and bitterness.

planky84 (6605) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2020 Can from Park Fever, Hither Green. Brown pour with a beige head. Nose is burnt toffee, milk chocolate, cola, raisin, banana pudding. Ooh that's good. Taste is banana toffee, raisin, cinnamon, sweet tobacco. Sweet, warming finish. Reminds me of a Rochefort 8. Excellent stuff.
