COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ninth edition of our Stone Vertical Epic Ale series takes two interesting left turns. A Belgian-style golden triple is the starting point of this beer, but the first left turn is nearly immediate with the addition of dried chamomile flowers, triticale, and Belgian amber candi sugar. The second, and rather unusual left turn takes us half an hour up the road from Stone to Temecula courtesy of the addition of just-pressed Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc grapes from our friends at South Coast Winery. As the Stone Vertical Epic Ale series has moved through the calendar, we found that the brewing schedule for a 10.10.10 release coincided nicely with the grape harvest, neatly providing an interesting twist in this epic ale.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2020 (Bottle) Hazy amber colour with brief, off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of peaches, orange peel, grapes, honey, flowers (yarrow, chamomille), coriander, white bread and spices (clove). Fruity, spicy taste with peaches, orange peel, honey, clove, yeast, flowers, chamomille, grapes, white wine, coriander and a vinous finish with a gentle spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite interesting, with lots of flavours and a slight acidity. Very nice.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2018 Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. Sampled 20180201. Tiny and short lace. Opaque yellow color. Old and tired spicy aroma. The taste is still herbal spicy and with tired malts and balanced bitterness.

Backlog, Bottle from Capones, pours a orange color with a 2-3 finger head. Lasting lace. Aromas and flavor were dark fruit, belgian yeast and candy sugar, fig, vanilla, cocoa, and flowers. Lots of sweet malts in the nose and flavor. Alright but preferred the 09 version.

Intense fruity thick rich nose. The beer starts sweetish and rich. Sourish hints, not too deep. Sessionable and a bit alcoholic. Fresh smooth, slightly sourish. The aftertaste is round and refreshing, dry honey, not too deep in body. The winey hints are there, but not too intense, the grain is in the foreground.

Bottle, finally rating this. Clear golden copper color with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, Belgian yeast, notes of honey and muscat, floral notes. The flavor has a nice sugar/honey/muscat sweetness with a yeasty finish. Medium-full bodied, average carbonation. Pretty good for the series.
