UPDATED: APR 4, 2019 I originally saw this for about $7.99, which was a little too high for me. Then saw it for about the same price as the regular smoked porter, just under $6, so figured I'd should try it now. Vanilla adds some sweetness to it, perhaps a tad too sweet. Takes away some of the smokiness. Might add some to the aroma though. Getting some toasted and roasted malt flavors as well. Still great beer and worth the try, just not sure this it needed the variations.

Bamsen78 (7609) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2018
Draught @ Fox & Hounds, Sønderborg. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable beige head. Clear aroma of roast, vanilla and malt, with touches of smoke, chocolate and yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with touches of hops and sweetish notes of vanilla and malt and yeast. Hints of coffee and dark chocolate. Roasty aftertaste with vanilla hints. High carbonation - perhaps a tad too high - but otherwise everything is quite decent.

Draft Third of a Pint at GBBF 2010 (Day 1), Earl’s Court, London Aug 2010 - Mahogany in colour. Lots & Lots of Vanilla. Very Malty; roasty malts, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, peat smoked malts, oak, more vanilla, caramel. Fruity; dark fruits. Hoppy; some balancing hop bitterness. Very smooth. Tasty. Subtler than a rauchbier. Lovely Beer! (2010-08)

SG111 (2285) - New York, USA - NOV 7, 2016
Bottled. 2014 release. Pours dark brown, almost ruby tinged. Off white head. Aroma is very smoky, vanilla, some toffee, dark fruits, chocolate roasted malt. Flavor is smokey, roasted malt, chocolate, some vanilla. Body is a bit thin, but it’s less than 6% so it’s fair. Very good.
