UPDATED: JUN 27, 2021 Draft at the brewery. Pours clear bright amber with a fizzy white head. Tastes like dough, toffee malt, and faint earth. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like dough, toffee malt, and earth.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2021 DATE: September 19, 2020... OCCASION: would have loved to take part in the online Oktoberfest tasting, but a good, busy day leads to me settling for a beer I have meant to rate for more than a decade... GLASSWARE: Man Skirt willibecker... pours a dark amber, chestnut body that demonstrates a steady stream of upward-moving bubbles.... its head is off-white, creamy, and staunchly quarter-fingered... toffee, sweet cracker malts, some caramel, a bit of metallic ping, and a basement nuttiness that seems to define the traditional Pennsylvania lager... in some ways, this smells like home, my early drinking days and candy all at once... its first sip is thin, slightly oily, smooth, and short on its finish... simple in its consistency, at 4.1% ABV, equally easy on the senses... nutty, with toffee, light caramel, some metallic elements, and a bready finish... in a way, this is a nice, slightly more flavorful version of the usual adjunct lager...

ganache (6721) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 19, 2018
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2019 Bottle from Wegmans in State College (screw-top). Nose ambery malt slick but with more earth and darker caramel, even a little toast; pour copper-brown with occasional ruby highlights, a large and soapy beige head. Taste moderately sweet, no bitterness, but the fullish body seems stripped, filtered; wisps of smoke by the end but very little roast otherwise, an interesting effect; low-level floral and light-medium corn, mineral kept in check but so is the malt. Brighter and a touch (just a touch) cleaner than some of their others, but a little more blandness for the sake of drinkability (which this does have when cold). Not bad, just forgotten. [2018.07.18: 2.3]

From the Eternal tap followed by bottles. Good, strong, straightforward malt, a little gritty cola fizz wrapped with excellent toastiness, caramel. Honestly a great choice. [2019.07.18: 2.9]

This is an excellent drinking beer. It is low in sugar, high in taste, and reasonably priced. It is pretty smooth. It has flavor but nothing that sticks with you long after you drink it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Free on tap at the Homewood Suites in Du Bois, Pennsylvania Commonweath of. Pours massively foamy... I think I was the only drinking beer and getting the daily foam treatment. Foam did settle to beer quickly. Pours burnt sienna, translucent. Some toasted malt, hay, balanced sweetness and bitterness. Light body. Inoffensive in every imaginable way.

Can. Pretty much what you’d expect visually ... yep, it’s amber. Fizzy head. Sweet malty aroma. Fairly thin body, and really not much to this all around. Fairly "macro" character, just the lightest lick of caramel. (#5842, 11/9/2014)

Transfer from BA review on 8-19-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a medium amber color with a one finger white head. The head has a fair amount of retention and eventually fades to give a light to medium amount of lacing. Smell – The aroma is of a caramel malt, brown bread, some roasted aromas as well as a light herbal hop smell. Taste – The taste starts with a nice roasted malt and caramel taste. As the flavor advances some light hop flavors of an earthy and floral nature come into the taste. As these hops come into play, the caramel sweetness fades some but the malt taste retains its strength. In the end a roasty and lightly sweetened hop flavor is left on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average for the abv with a carbonation level being average to above average. The roastiness would be better enhanced by the slightly higher then average body, but the thickness of this brew was not bad none the less. The average to above average carbonation level makes it for an easy drinking, slightly exciting to drink brew. Good for the style and abv. Overall – A great session amber brew. Easy to drink, not adjucty beer with a pretty good taste and feel.
