COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied American lager unlike most, Stroh’s beer sports a craft brew pedigree. Enriched with hop varieties usually found only in craft brews, Stroh’s lager offers a distinct and distinguished taste with a preponderance of Cascade and Willamette hops from the great Northwest. Pungent and pleasing, Stroh’s stands apart from the usual lager taste profile in flavor, but not in alcohol.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2021 Bottle gifted by a friend. It was Golden and clear with a frothy head. It was sweet and corny. Not a lot of hop character. It wasn’t off-putting, but I wouldn’t drink on purpose again.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2020 Twistoff tallboy. Clean, somewhat Swedish-looking labels and marketing. Clear, pale yella. Maize aroma, hominy, light saaz or some other eurohop. Very clean drinking, slightly sweet hominy notes, not very bitter. There's a sticky twang on the backend - flaked maize, cornflakes. This will obviously never be my go-to beer, but I would not be ashamed to serve it at a barbeque - assuming we ever get to do that again - either. Market Square Liquors, Timberlane, Tallahassee. Zombie Apocalypse, 2020.

An honest pilsener, without a whole lot of adjunct flavor. Actually tastes like an all-malt macrobrew -- grainy, malty. Clean, and a good value at $7 for 12.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2020 Pours medium gold. Nose is malt. Middle is lightly carmelized malt, mild woody hoppiness. Finish tells you nothing new.

Nice touch of gold hue in appearance, head quickly disappears but good lacing. Touch of malt taste followed by smooth dry finish. If macro lagers are judged against each other, Stroh's is near the top imo. 30 pk $18.99 + tx. Cheers!

16 ounce can into lager glass, best before 5/28/2018. Pours crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. A touch of fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale malt/corn and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey/nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness of pale malt/corn and light earthy hop flavors; with great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very good pale adjunct lager! All around nice robustness of pale malt/corn and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and never watery for the ABV. Very clean and nicely rich malts/grains and solid earthy hop presence for the style. Not overdone on adjuncts, plenty of barley presence. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. One of the absolute best AAL I've ever had for sure.

lol at the guy saying its a waste of money when it's about 50 cents a beer. Great for an American pale lager :) one of the best for the style for sure.

Geurloos en smaakloos, niet slecht, maar ook niet goed. Niet veel meer smaak aan dan water.

Scipio (2133) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - NOV 11, 2017
Pours a clear, thin golden with a full, smooth white head. The aroma isn't strong, though its lightly floral, a little buttery, and has hay and corn. The taste has a faint sweet touch to it. Flavors are basically identical to the nose except that its even more floral. However, the overall taste is milder than what the aroma offered. Minimal floral finish. Light in body and thin in texture. This one is on the low end of the macro spectrum.
