UPDATED: NOV 24, 2021 Can pours a hazy golden color with a big off-white head that lingers, leaving lots of lace on glass. Smells of sweet bread, spice & citrus fruit. Tastes grapefruit, lemon, wheat bread and spice. Medium body, tingly carbonation, dry mouthfeel and a mellow mildly bitter finish. Nice balance, decent West coast IPA rendition! I like Surly!

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2021 From can (pkgd 16Apr) in tulip. Pours hazy sunset gold w/a cm of white foam, strong grapefruit element in aroma & taste. Hop forward from go to whoa, finishes rather dry. Similar to what I remember of Amager version.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2021 Can. No Todd on the label now, but still interesting to try to compare with the Danish brewed version (a 4.0 for me 5 years ago). Somewhat unclear golden amber with a white head. Intense citrus aroma with Meyer lemon, lime leaf, gooseberries, hints of mango & pine. Pretty light bodied. Feels alive. Dryish with loads of citrus, barely ripe tropical fruit. Not that much going on with the malt but it's enough to support and there's no bland sweetness. Long bitter finish. It's not the _only_ sort of IPA I like but it's a very good example of a type I do like a lot. Grist to my 'RoW people are .15 stingy' notion mill.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2021 Hazy yellow. Fresh hop aroma and flavor. Grapefruit flavor from the hops. Refreshing beer.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2021 [Uploaded from backlog - 9/29/19] 64oz growler from JJF. On the last 1/3 now. Been really fantastic. Doesn't get gross as I go, like a Stone Liberty Station Red IPA I had for my last growler. Very clean malt bill, good big hop. Assertive. Citrusy and piney. No complaints. This hits.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2021 Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a big foamy white head. Bold citrusy aroma. Smooth with big juicy citrus flavors. Medium body with some oily lacing. Full mouth feel with very little bitterness. Finishes with a lingering juicy aftertaste. Very refreshing and enjoyable.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2021 Can. Thin-looking, with a very light wisp of white foam. Very faint aromas of ripe fruit. Drinks with a spicier edge atop a subtle fruit salad combination. (#7916, 3/2021)

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2021 I live in Minnesota 6 months a year and Florida the other 6 months. I haven't found a beer close to Axeman or Furious and miss it terribly! The hop- foward tasteis a 10+!

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2020 Tall can. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a dense white head. Citrus hop aroma. The flavor is juicy, a bit watery, with smooth firm bitterness that turns dry in the finish.
