UPDATED: APR 20, 2019 Pretty good beer, but a little over-hyped with the price tag for 4-pack. Sort of mild on the hops for a black IPA this strength. Decent balance, smooth, and ABV somewhat hidden for close to 10%. May try again on tap to see if there's any difference.

black; sweet malt and dark fruit aroma; flavor is dark, roasted malt, dark fruit; bitter; fairly sweet and malty; warm, alcohol notes

Pours coffee black with a nice tan head. Lots of toast and some dark fruitiness floating in there, with a chocolate backbone. Warms as it hits the belly. Leaves a stickiness in the mouth as well. Not bad.

Inky black pour, 2014 release. Piney hops, some coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Complex.

Bottle. Black in color and tan head. Aroma is roasted grain, burnt toast, pine and spruce. Taste is roasted grains, coffee and spruce and pine.

Pours dark black. Aroma- pine, floral, citrus /grapefruit, bready, earthy, funky. Taste - dark bread, resin. Coffee and earth as it warms. A little sweet malt as it warms further.

테라핀 브루 - 미드나잇 몽크 9.8% ABV 대낮에 빈속에 마신 9.8도의 맥주. 가볍고 쌉쌀한 커피향. 달지만 자연스런 알코올향이 결코 부담스럽지 않다.깔끔한 맛의 사케를 마시는 듯한 알콜기. 검은색과 도수로 미루어 보아 임페리얼 스타우트가 떠오르긴 하지만 실제로 사케 지게미 향이 물씬 솟는 맥주는 블랙 IPA. 좋은 경험 했다.전에 써둔 메모를 보아하니 다시 마셔보고싶어&# 아틀란다, 미국 https://twitter.com/MaekJuBot

Bouteille. Brune, col léger blanc-cassé. Arôme offre un subtil alliage enre une levure belge distincte et un malté plu centré sur un côté américain dans les notes grillées, caramel. Retrouve une pointe chocolaté en rétro avec un houblonné frais d’agrumes et une pointe de pin. Palais reste sur cette note belge dan la levure e qui ne dérange pas vraiment l’aspect Black IPA. On profite d’une belle note de grillé qui est en balance avec un houblonnage de type C, côté ouest surtout au niveau agrumes, résineux. Retrouve une petite note de chocolat amer qui égale celle des houblons. Reste juste à se demander pourquoi avec une levure belge on n’arrive pas à avoir, sauf qcq exceptions, une IPA correcte en Belgique.

Pours black with tan head. Aroma is super toasty, maybe some pine notes. Taste is toasty, some fruity chocolate in the aftertaste. Pretty tasty I think. Abv well hidden.

Sampled at World of Beer Fest, Milwaukee. Very good offering that I almost didn’t try. Pours jet black with good head, has a coriander taste typical of Belgian beers but also has a good piney, malty flavor.
