UPDATED: DEC 21, 2021 75CL. glad to see AFH rated this as I was not going to open my bottle without him! Dark brown to black pour, nice coffee colored head. smells like almond joy and nut brown ale. hmmm. very tasty. really like the boozy bourbon flavor that starts and then lingers long into the finish. almond joy, candy candy, honey and licorice.

AirForceHops (12438) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 28, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2021 750 ml bottle from the RS. Aroma is chocolate, nuts, mild bourbon. Flavor has all the adjuncts with a very soft lingering bourbon. The positive factor is you don’t even really taste the alcohol. Great body and texture for the style.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2021 Bottle pour from share with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is opaque black with finger-width beige head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong chocolate, coffee, bourbon, roasted malt and mild nut. Taste is strong coffee and chocolate, bourbon and late nut. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation, only a hint of alcohol and finish as taste. Overall, nice complexity and balance.

Pours a dark brown to black in color, with a beige head... Aroma of dark chocolate, cacao, nuts, bourbon, charred oak...Mouthfeel is not thin, yet not terribly thick, lots of charred oak, burnt malts, cacao, coffee and some nutty notes, lingering burnt malt and smoke on finish... tasty ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

jbruner (8524) - Lakewood, California, USA - JUL 29, 2020
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2020 Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with dense tan brown foam that dissipates slowly to leave moderate lacing. Aroma of huge sweet chocolate and almond notes over bourbon barrel vanilla deliciousness, a touch of roast behind. Taste follows, hits the notes for a bourbon soaked biscotti for sure, a touch of chocolate to back it up. Booze is somehow well hidden, maybe because its not syrupy or over the top sweet.

HarvesterOfSorrow (2863) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - APR 5, 2020
UPDATED: APR 5, 2020 April 4, 2020 - bottle from my membership. Dark pour with large tan head that lasted. Aroma was nutty, rich coffee, cocoa powder and light bourbon. Flavor was very balanced with wood, nutty, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and bourbon. Palate was smooth and creamy.

ABUSEDGOAT (4006) - California, USA - MAR 19, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 19, 2020 Black with a large tan head. Aroma of toasted nuts, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, wood, roast. Fuller bodied, toasted nut flavor with chocolate and moderate barrel presence dominate flavors, somewhat warming. Really pleasant stuff.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2020 750ml bottle @ Matt's. Thanks Matt. Pours an opaque dark brown colour with a medium brown head. Nose is delicious, lovely chocolate, almonds, and tasty bourbon. Flavour is a lovely bourbon medley with chocolate and toasted almonds. finishing off with a dark roasted coffee character. Medium to full bodied, great carbonation, and a surprisingly moderately low sweetness. Not the usual diabetes bomb, everything is perfect. Very nice!

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2020 Dark brown, not much head. I'm liking the toasty almonds and hint of coffee on the nose...it's whacky but it's fun. big bourbon depths. There's alcohol up front, and it's decently dry for its size, this also has a toasty character, maybe some vanilla. Solid.

mcberko (34280) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 14, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2020 750mL bottle, pours black with a large tan head. Nose is quite rich, with toasted almonds and bourbon barrels upfront, with a touch of cocoa and cocoa further back. Flavour is not a diabetes bomb, thankfully -- with lots of toasted almonds, bourbon barrel character, and coffee. It's sweet, but nowhere close to cloying. Nicely crafted. I dig it.
