Polymodern (327) - Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 12, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2021 Bottle from Clapton Craft. Deep red mahogany pour, off-white head. Aroma is herbaceous hop, pine, caramel. Taste is classic west coast IPA with a rye twist, so toffee apple, sweet sticky caramel, black peppery esters, brown bread, woody pine, cedar. The finish is dry and substantially bitter, with some toasted brown bread notes. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy. A beautifully well put-together beer, a masterpiece of a rye ale.

Garrold (9483) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 23, 2021
UPDATED: APR 23, 2021 Bottle. Can’t recall where from. Bit of a murky, deep amber colour. Lovely Kernel swede. Nose has spicy rye. Some tinned strawberry. Bit of charred citrus. Taste has a soft strawberry sweetness first off, turning punchy, resinous bitter. Light to medium body is fairly oily. Fine carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Decent.

The_Osprey (10582) - WALES - APR 23, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 2, 2021 The Kernel Half Brick Red Rye Ale (Simcoe Centennial), 4.6% 500ml bottled one month ago to the day. Not much on the nose. Rosewater toffee. Taste... The hops and the rye are both adding a spiciness that integrates nicely. Everything is harmonious and the hops complement perfectly giving a rye-pine-salt-rosewater impression. The grassiness of the Simcoe and the toffee-orange of the centennial with the rye are simply a very well thought out combination. Not a big beer, in defiance of the trend.  It's just so well put together - an understated and classy number. A great beer. (6-4-10-5-16=4.1)

Leighton (30699) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2021
UPDATED: APR 23, 2021 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Bottle Apostle, South Hackney. Pours lightly hazed reddish-bronze with a fluffy, off-white head. Lightly sweet with nice restrained piney character, dried caramel, toasted malts, some earthy-leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Bitter finish, more piney notes, orange rind, sun-kissed grains, toast, earth. Outrageously drinkable.

3.5
Creedence (446) - London, Quebec, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2021
UPDATED: APR 17, 2021 500ml bottle from Ken's, enjoyed watching the cup semi-final. Pours a rusty red with a nice off-white foam that holds excellently - nice looking beer. Nose is dark caramel, some woody hops, something slightly buttermilky in it. Taste is medium malt sweetness, woody bitterness and a dry rye finish. Soft carbonation, medium body, lingering woody hops. Decent but nothing special.
