Helles Lager Aged in Oak Barrels with a Mixed Culture
The Lagfather Part III is the third part of our collaboration with Laughing Monk Brewing. This Helles lager was first brewed in August of 2019 and a portion of the brew was brought to The Rare Barrel to age in oak barrels that previously housed mixed culture beer. Just when we thought we were out, they pull me back in.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 Bottle pours clear golden with a well formed white head. Aroma is lemony, pretty, oaky. Flavor is fairly crisp, dry, light tart, bready and pretty. Medium-light feel, crisp. Good.
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2021 Near clear gold. Really more a sour/wild ale, but following how thwe earlier itteration is categorized (and also how untappd has this one). Solid fruity (think kumquat) sour nose and flavor, crisp clean like a lager. Refreshing and different.
