COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thirsty Hippo is a Coriander Amber Ale with hints of orange and lemon flavours and a gentle bitterness, brewed using two types of malt, coriander seeds and adventurous English hops to create a gentle body. To round out the tropical flavour profile I am dry hopped with a combination of New World hops. Drink me nicely chilled on a warm summer day, perhaps with some pasta, salads or why not a BBQ?

drjoeng (2228) - SINGAPORE - JUL 7, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 7, 2019 5.5%ABV. American Amber ale. Poured out amber. 12°SRM. Nose has aromas of sweet malt, hint of honey, English breakfast tea leaves, wood, mint. Hint of ripe fruit esters. Pine and hint of citrus in the nose. Mouthfeel is medium with clean carbonation. Palate is full and bready with flavors of barley bread, wheat toast, and cracker. Hop flavors are woody, minty, hint of florality with chrysanthemums. There is a pleasant leafy bitter. Finish is brief-medium with a clean grassy bitter Overall, a malt-forward American amber-ish ale. Nicely balanced, would love to try this one again under less trying circumstances. Doesn't look it from the photos, but it was hot and very very sunny.

CloakedDagger (6559) - - FEB 8, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2019 Can 33 cl. Pours nutty brown with a slight haze and a dense and lacing off-white head. Distinct, perfumy coriander in the nose which is rather unusual fpr an Amber Ale. Medium body, dry caramel and nuts with a spicy and herbal hop finish that adds quite some bitterness. Well balanced and solid, nothing fancy - apart from the perfumy nose.... 080218
