"The Legend". Brewed using a generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley malts, along with the majestic Fuggle hop, to create a wonderful, full-bodied flavour with subtle banana, cherry and rich fruit overtones.

A peculier tale:
Theakston’s most famous ale takes its name from the seal of the Peculier Court of Masham, which was granted back in the 12th century. It was the custom at the time for the church to administer the law, but this proved too arduous a task for the then Archbishop, who was based in York. So, with due archiepiscopal aplomb, he set up the independent Peculier Court, headed up by the Peculier of Masham.

StuffWine (258) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 16, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2021 Poured a clear and deep ruby red with medium tan head. Aroma is big malt, bit of molasses, candy sugar. Taste is malt, toasted grain, touch of wood smoke, with sweetness fading to toasted hops. Full body, soft mouthfeel, long finish. Overall... oh I could drink many of these on a cool evening. Fine, fine brew.

DoctorAle (17) - Barnsley, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2021
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2021 Butelka 500ml. Ciemno-rubinowe, wiśniowe z dość wysoką pianą. Aromat: ciemne owoce, słód, alkohol. Smak pełny ciemnych owoców (śliwki, wiśnie), słodowy (ciemny słód, nuta kawowo-czekoladowa), przypieczone tosty, karmel. Nuta alkoholowa kojarzy się z winem. Goryczka umiarkowana. Do powolnego popijania.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2021 Pours dark, with aroma of air. No real taste of note, slight sting after the swallow, leaving tongue feeling furry. Quite ok 👌🏽

vladeath (2683) - RUSSIA - MAR 5, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2021 Dark brown, excellent lather. Nose. Bread-caramel, floral-fruity, subtle coffee notes. Taste. Malt, caramel, something berry, (black currant?) Very weak coffee-chocolate shades, hops turning into bitterness. This is a great example of a delicious balanced beer.

bertiebucket (91) - morecambe, Lancashire, ENGLAND - DEC 7, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2020 500ml bottle, bought in Sainsbury's. Served cellar temperature, in a straight pint glass. Dark russet ale, with a light brown head which collapsed quickly. Slightly burnt roast malt flavour, with a hint of bitterness. 'The Legendary Ale'?, no very disappointing.
