Obfuscate (1285) - Minneapolis, - SEP 29, 2019UPDATED: SEP 29, 2019 A really nice Ocktoberfest. I like mine more session able. Sweet and clean malt. Easy drinking but enough body. My wife's favorite Ocktoberfest beer. Even better on tap.
shrubber85 (13675) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - OCT 19, 2018Can. Caramel malt, tin, and hay aroma. Amber with large light tan head. Moderately sweet caramel malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Light metallic aftertaste. Decent - easy drinking.
Patrickctenchi (7259) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - SEP 29, 2018Can:
Clear....amber/gold with a large white head.
Caramel, grain scent.
Taste is light....caramel malt, a bit of toasted bread.....very little in the way of Oktoberfest spicing or richness....nothing awful here, just runs to the bland side.
To paraphrase Yosemite Sam: "A would-be Hessian Session without no aggression....."
Hiero (256) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 14, 2018Very drinkable beer, but I wouldn't characterize this as a Marzen. It's very light, amber color. Light, oily body, very slight bitterness. Nothing offensive, but nothing unique.
muzzlehatch (4975) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 25, 201716 ounce can, a Christmas present from Uncle Don who just gives me stuff he doesn't want that somebody else gave him. Eh, what the hell. Served fairly cold while I"m waiting for my dinner to cook, in a faded Sam Smith's glass, faded like my hopes and dreams...very clear amber-bronze, small-to-moderate white quick-decaying head...light malty-sweet nose, bit of brown sugar, also a bit of soap, mehhhh...sweet, thin, rather watery, again a little soapiness on the tongue, low to moderate carbonation, a touch of nice toastiness to finish...all in all not very good though not totally undrinkable. I'm wishy-washy, it's Christmas day, whaddaya want? We three slobs from Omaha are spending Christmas Eve in a car....Joyous Kwanzaa folks.
MNAle (640) - Minnesota, USA - OCT 3, 2017Malty aroma, a little weak, some bread, maybe a little caramel. Amber with a thick white head, bubbly and creamy looking. Malty taste follows the aroma: bread, caramel. Thinish body. Mild with little / no bittering. Pretty bland. I guess it is not too bad if you are looking for something low ABV, but otherwise, just a beer.
fidelis83 (3317) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - SEP 6, 2017Clear amber pour with a two finger, creamy white head and a high effervescence. Aroma is sweet pale malt, bread, caramel, sweet corn and just a hint of planty and spicy hops. Flavor is about the same, but more toffeeish than caramel, a little metal and a pretty noticeable fusel note. Light body, light, sharp carbonation. Meh, kinda sloppy, but not bad for the price.
palabreur (24) - Brocton, New York, USA - AUG 30, 201716oz can from Aldi, can't find a date on it.
Amber with ample off-white head, minimal bubbles, head dissipated quickly leaving blotchy lacing. Aroma is stale malt and dough.
Thin mouthfeel with few bubbles. Sweet and malty with no apparent hop bitterness. Some cereal aftertaste.
Overally reminded me of cheap beer from my college days. Would not recommend.
gopherfan99 (2001) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 15, 2017Sample Cap Untapped; pours semi clear amber with a white head; aroma of caramel and a little bread with some floral hints; taste is light sweet caramel with some bread; dry, slightly sweet finish
drpimento (6063) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 11, 2016Aroma is just plain "beery". Flavor’s on the bland side. Slightly malty, bit of fruit, on the dry side. Except for in the finish where there is a bit of sweet. Body is slightly thin. Forgettable brew.
