Würzig malziger Antrunk, angenehm, geringe Intensität gemessen am Alkohol und der Lagerung. Leicht röstig, wenig schokoladig, verhalten. OK aber nicht besonders. 10/10/10/11/10/10

375mL 2008 ed green glass thanks to owners of The Birch for sharing with us. Deeper mahogany pour. Cola red highlights. Spots of tan lacing. Nose is red apple skin heavy, sweet cider, sugar, lots of acetaldehyde or oxidation. Taste thinner, black pepper, sweet red apple. Hmmm. Palate is very thin for style. Lots of red apple skins, mealy. Interesting- very excited to have tried this rarity :)

Bottle. Black with a little tan head. Good bit whisky in the aroma, little smokiness, chocolate, cola. Taste has good bit of whisky, faint caramel and cola. Sweet with a clean finish. Perhaps a little thin again. Clean finish. Nice

Benjii (3050) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 15, 2012
In bottle, thanks Craig. Pours a very dark brown colour with a fair light tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice, raisins, soy sauce and alcohol. Similar flavours with whiskey, dark chocolate, oak and alcohol again. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Alcohol is very well balanced. Lovely.

meerbier (1473) - Pijnacker, NETHERLANDS - JUN 6, 2011
Bottle@Home. Vanilla, black chocolate and whisky aroma. Opaque, light brown head, good lace. Malts, vanilla, wood, chocolate, light dusty. Nice body but could be thicker. Flavourful, still easy going.

5th March 2010. Pre ZBF. End of evening rating! Opaque black beer. Slightly smoky whisky dominates a little lactose sweet malt. Finishes dry.

caesar (7642) - Bunnik, NETHERLANDS - APR 30, 2010
Tap @ pre-ZBF 2010. Same background as the speyside Slight other whisky notes, less peat. More rounded and balanced.

Balazs (787) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - APR 20, 2010
PreZBF - black, with a brown head that diminished quickly. Aroma is whisky, roasted malts, caramel and a bit of fruits. Medium dense body with low carbonation. Not too complex. I am personally not crazy about the whisky aroma present, but it’s not overwhelming, and still very much enjoyable.

3.9
skortila (6536) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - APR 15, 2010
@ Pre ZBF. The aroma has whisky, dark malts. Black coloured beer with a thin, beige head. The taste is sweet, some bitterness, has some wood, whisky and dark malts. Medium body.
