Oakrock (130) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 16, 2013
Bottle @ Kaisla. Rich and extremely soft to be such a strong beer. Chocolate, roasted apple, almonds and brie cheese. Unfortunately a slight taste of overnight ashtray. Great palate - super foamy - smalls bubbles. Yes, would like to have another soon.

3.2
Marsiblursi (3075) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 9, 2012
(Bottle) Pours dark brown to black with a small light brown head. The aroma holds aggressive notes of whisky up front – smoke, wet stone, tar and peat. Undertones of chocolate roast and earth. The flavour is light sweet, light bitter and tiny acidic. Smoke, tar, chocolate, earth, stone and meat. The mouthfeel is soft, almost velvety and bit watery with almost no carbonation. Lingering whisky aftertaste with hints of roast. Near medium bodied.

RBESG August 2011, grand tasting. Black with a small tan head. Strong iodine and peat aroma with some licorice. Sweetish overwhelming peat smoke flavour.

Leighton (30699) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2011
Bottle (2006 vintage) at RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at The Dean Swift, London. Pours murky black with a foamy, white head. Huge peat aroma, also some wood. Very sweet flavor, great earthy character, more peat, mild roast and cocoa. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Outrageously good finish, mlid warmth, very little burn. Peat galore, mild cocoa, dark sugars. This stuff is just incredible. Beautiful barrel integration. Great balance. Miraculous character.

Bottle (RBESG2011, Grand Tasting)
Black, small tan ring head. Clear islay aroma, roastiness too. Islay all over the taste too. Smooth palate, but a nice tingle from burntness, hops and even a little alcohol. Good, but lacking the wow that would make me wax lyrical and throw around stunning scores.

Bottle @ RBESG Grand Tasting @ Dean Swift, London 2011. Pours black with small bubbles on top. Islay and coffee roast. Heavy peat. Smooth and oaky. Really well made.
