UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 Pours black with a one finger, dark tan head. Aroma is licorice, cocoa, roast, bourbon and peat. Taste is chocolate and licorice, moving to roast, peat and wood. Finish is chocolate, licorice, roast and bourbon.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2021 bottle (2021 vintage at 13.4% ABV) - nose is leather, black licorice, dark chocolate, and wood. Sip adds boozy chocolate. Very smooth for the ABV and surprisingly easy going.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2021 Bottle. Pours clear black, small tan head, some lacing. Aroma is bourbon, cocoa, roast, earth, oak. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter. Medium plus body.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2021 Black with a large foamy brown head that left good lacing. Almost minty and malty with cocoa And toasty malt. Very long finish. Full bodied.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2021 12oz bottle from Discount in Waukesha. This appears to be the 2020 version, and states 'bourbon barrel' distinctly (buried down on the side in the finer print). Very dark brown pour with an active brown head. Aroma has big sweet barrel, with sweet caramelly malt and brown sugar. Perhaps getting glimpses of the strong hoppiness which makes Blot so interesting/good. Taste is of sweet barrel & sweet malts, caramel, and brown sugar. Interesting barrel, but what made Blot excellent was the hoppiness, which the barrel has completely overwhelmed. Medium to full bodied, with some alcohol presence, the blend is solid/good. Finishes sweetly. Shrug? Due to the base, had much higher hopes. 14.1
