AWISLguy (5965) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 3, 2021UPDATED: MAY 3, 2021 12oz bottle from Discount in Waukesha. This appears to be the 2020 version, and states 'bourbon barrel' distinctly (buried down on the side in the finer print). Very dark brown pour with an active brown head. Aroma has big sweet barrel, with sweet caramelly malt and brown sugar. Perhaps getting glimpses of the strong hoppiness which makes Blot so interesting/good. Taste is of sweet barrel & sweet malts, caramel, and brown sugar. Interesting barrel, but what made Blot excellent was the hoppiness, which the barrel has completely overwhelmed. Medium to full bodied, with some alcohol presence, the blend is solid/good. Finishes sweetly. Shrug? Due to the base, had much higher hopes. 14.1
