COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Somewhere in the distance we hear the pounding of native drums. Was it in our minds? We don’t know. What we do know is that we made a salted caramel barley wine, put it in bourbon barrels for 12 months, and added vanilla beans and cocoa nibs. Taste the scrumptiousness.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2021 Pours dark brown and us an aroma of bourbon, caramel malt, booze, and oak. The flavor is sweet with caramel, malt, bourbon, oak, and booze. Full bodied. It’s very good though it didn’t blow me away.

colui72 (3437) - Yuen Long, HONG KONG - AUG 4, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 4, 2021 Beautiful salted caramel and bourbon on the nose, sweet malts, bourbon barrel notes. Clear copper, with a small and not lasting bubbly pour beer, no laces. Moderately sweet, obviously very malty, salted caramel, bourbon barrel, toffee. Fruity notes from the hops, but low bitterness. Full bodied, creamy, low carbonation, 13.6% and you feel it. A gorgeous beer, well balanced, delicious, serious, real.

We had this at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle Illinois in July 2021. This was an extremely good high alcohol beer but it had lots of flavor and was more sweet than the usual high alcohol beers ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

tennisjoel (1933) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - JUL 24, 2021
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2021 Brown body with minimal head that totally dissipates. Bubbly appearance, like a soda pop. Caramel, oak. Very caramel focused and the hops are detectable but muted. Dessert like. Abv is noticable but the sweetness subdues it. Pretty good overall.

Itzjerm (3950) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - JUL 12, 2021
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2021 Nose is strong alchol. Flavor is carmel and salt and some bourbon barrel. Thick and chewy with a salted balance. Very much salted. Overall intense and enjoyable and interesting.

AndyW68 (2036) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUL 4, 2021

2.9
JPDIPSO (6618) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 26, 2021
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2021 Dark brown, with a hint of orange when held to the light. Tan head that dissipated by the time I was ready to sniff. Aromas of salted caramel, white currants, toasted malt, graham crackers and wild honey. Heavily toasted bread in the front soaked in bourbon vanilla, with a dusting of cocoa powder. Definitely a mild burn building in the stomach. Ripe plums, prunes, and baked apples. The alcohol really starts to take over, with nearly every all parts of the digestive system having a mild burn initiating. Has mild capsaicin undertones. Overripe fruit start to become overbearing. As my lips begin to stick together from the sweetness I have to call it quits. Too much sweetness, alcohol, not normality. Like a fruit cake drenched in cheap rum.
