corkyrory66 (5311) - BELGIUM - FEB 27, 2021UPDATED: FEB 27, 2021 Saison de 7,4 % abv, avec zeste d'orange et coriandre.
Mon exemplaire avait 2 ans.
Chudwick (4684) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - AUG 16, 2020UPDATED: AUG 16, 2020 Pint from fort Mitchell public house - noice. Wheaty for the style. Medium to full body. Yum. Soap/pepper aftertaste. What the doctor ordered.
dlovell2 (3005) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 5, 2020UPDATED: MAY 5, 2020 Poured from bomber. Thanks Maxbier! Pours cloudy golden with white head. Fruity aroma with belgian yeast. Flavor is sweet fruit with spicy belgian yeast finish and hint of cloves.
nuplastikk (8158) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 29, 2020UPDATED: MAR 29, 2020 12oz bottle. Not sure how this one never got rated, but probably had it the first time circa 2008 at the brewery. Kind of full bodied, big, sugary, sweet. Coriander and orange peel are undesirable here, but perhaps they even out some of the aggressive, flowery, estery, hairspray, bubblegum yeast tones. OK.
BuckeyeBoy (14695) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 9, 2019UPDATED: APR 9, 2019 22oz bottle pours out hazy straw color topped with a white head. Nose is clove spice coriander and some wheat. Taste is more of the nice spice combo coriander clove and cracked grain.
DWestrick (1781) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 1, 2018Bottle. All around solid Saison - great spices. Lacks a true distinct flavor - still very good
Desverger (23261) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 15, 2018Tap@Three Floyds TTO, Warpigs, Copenhagen (14/04/2018) - hazy golden yellow coloured pour with a white head. Fruity and floral grassy hoppy, with some citrus lemony fruity notes, malty notes, medium bodied, notes of yeast, citrus peel and some nice spice into the fruity hoppy finish.
superspak (9600) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - MAY 6, 201722 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, bottled on 3/21/2017. Pours hazy medium golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, banana, light bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, banana, light bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate yeast spiciness and light-moderate herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, banana, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation, increasing though the glass. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/bready/sticky, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 7.4%. Overall this is an awesome saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced spicy/drying finish. Was expecting a more hoppy saison due to the brewery, but this was very balanced and pretty traditional tasting. This has an Abbey yeast, and not the usual saison strain. A lot more fruity/banana than expected, but is still plenty spicy with adequate dryness for the style; despite being fairly malty. A highly enjoyable offering.
willisread (6518) - Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA - MAY 6, 2017Tap at J’s. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Classic saison nose: pear, grape skin, some yeast and light pepper. Mildly sweet, with light tartness and peppery hop notes. Really well-balanced. Lightly tart on the finish with some lemon and peppery bitterness. Well-executed.
weihenweizen (6384) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2017Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Slightly hazy golden. Aroma is yeasty & coriander, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is yeasty, coriander, and orange peel.
