Hint of caramel malt, at most. Taste follows suit. There’s literally nothing happening here. Watery and fizzy. Wow. Pointless.
SHIG (10003) - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2021UPDATED: AUG 15, 2021 Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a deep brown almost black with orange edges, head was tan. Aroma is caramel, roasted malts, toffee. Taste is roasted malts, caramel, coffee grounds, rich finish.
ITFCfan (810) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2021UPDATED: AUG 8, 2021 Bottle shared courtesy of Grumbo. Aroma of roasted malts and berries and very little caramel. Poured lively. Roasted coffee and hints of caramel comes through on the taste. A lit watery.
Grumbo (14439) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2021UPDATED: AUG 7, 2021 7/8/2021. Bottle bought at the brewery gate. Pours very dark mahogany brown with a large frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of light roasted malt, fruit, berries, light caramel and coffee, touch of veg. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, foamy carbonation. Very mild on the caramel for what’s labelled a caramel stout.
