375 bottle. Drank on 1 29 2017, probably a little later than I should have.... Nice blackberry and brown sugar aroma. Mild carbonation and light body... especially for a barleywine. Sweet but not cloyingly. Tasted slightly Belgian with the fruitiness aspect. Not a big fan of barleywines, but this was very tasty. Not too sweet or syrupy.

Bottle, 2013. Oops. Pours clear chestnut, small beige head, dissipates to a lot of bubbles and some lacing. Aroma is pretty heavy on dark sugars, oak tannin, light red wine vinous notes, caramel, toffee, dates. Flavor is medium plus sweet, very light bitter, a hint of acidity, tannic and vinous, vanilla bean. Medium body, pretty interesting. Perhaps a touch of sherry on the finish.

375 ml bottle. Deep clear brown with beige foam. Nose is caramel, wood, vanilla and whiskey. Medium body with a slight tang. The rye in the whiskey pops out more in the taste but the other flavors come off more muted. Quite smooth for the ABV but seems like its been in the cellar for too long.

This one poured a semi flat brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of lots of oak, brown sugar, booze, and vanilla. Flavor was similar, fair well blend of flavors in the barleywine, not too sweet, nice bourbon notes, but not overpowering, and lackin in body and spiriit.

Bottle offering at tired hands sample pour from Jean for bar patrons at inaugural Saturday lunch...thanks...described as a 12% bourbon barrel aged barleywine with vanilla notes..great crimson color...aroma is spot on bourbon and quite delightful...aroma comes out on top here as the initial mouthfeel is like an interplay with bourbon and cream soda..provides a warming note on the finish..this was a nice treat and an interesting take on a barleywine...

Medium-brown body, medium to thin light tan head, minimal lacing. Caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits, vanilla, whiskey, light spice. Full bodied, a bit cloying with too much sweetness throughout, appropriate carbonation.

Pours an opaque chestnut with light sediment and a medium tan head. Aroma has dark and cadied fruits with a hint of a red wine-like note...decent lacing and retention for a BA barleywine. Flavor brings mild candied fruit with notes of vanilla and brown sugar before nice rye whiskey notes creep in to control the sweetness nicely...vanilla, rye and oak are all controlled without any dominating. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a nice rye/vanilla finish that showcases the barrel nicely and warms a bit. This is a slightly sweeter barleywine with great rye whiskey qualities. Awesome...I love this beer.

Aroma of caramel candy (mary janes), sticky brown sugar, and vanilla. Pours swirly hazy brown with not much head. Taste is super sweet with vanilla, brown sugar, oak, and molasses. Still super sweet but not annoyingly so like MotherAnimal. Glad I split this. I think 4oz is just enough. Almost great.
