mountdad (536) - Mount Maunganui, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 16, 2021UPDATED: MAR 16, 2021 330ml bottle. Looking at the reviews this varies quite a bit but is nearly always good. Pours black with a small tan head that fades fast. Rich aroma with chocolate, coffee, malt & some smoke or wood in there. The taste is medium bodied, smooth & sweet but with good depth, not just sugar. The decent helping of hops balances it all out well so you get a tasty porter, almost stout, with a good balance. You do need to like a fair dollop of hops in your porter.
rennat42 (4430) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - JAN 2, 2021UPDATED: JAN 2, 2021 Bottle.
A- Roasty, charred wood, dusty.
A- Black color, black liquid, brown head.
T- Char, roasty, bitter, dry cocoa powder, burnt sugar.
P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, dry bitter finish.
O- A rather robust porter that is borderline imperial but isn't necessarily boozy. Bit too bitter for my liking but an appreciable brew overall.
