UPDATED: NOV 19, 2020 Draught at Taphouse. Black coloured with a small beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of chocolate, soy sauce and rum. Sweet and roasted flavour of chocolate, rum and dried fruits. Roasted finish.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, licorice, coffee, brown sugar and wood. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, boozy, roasted, brown sugar, wood, coffee and licorice finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2020 Darkest brown. Aroma is caramel toffee pudding prickly pear boozy phenols raisin. Taste is boozy phenolic raisin vanilla. Finish of rum and woods and raisin. Heavy and phenolic. Hardly drinkable. But complex. Phew.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2020 Bottle, thanks to my brother for the Christmas gift! Dark brown with a thin head. Vanilla, molasses, nice smooth aroma. The flavor starts sweet, a hint of umami, roasty flavors, moving to dry and spicy rum finish. Wow, the rum is really present at the tail end. This is fantastically well balanced with a nice umami note. I've hardly had such a strong beer that mixed the high alcohol, sweetness, beer flavor, and smooth bitterness as well as this. Amazing balance, perfect beer.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2020 Bottle. Dark brown, low head. Dark chocolate, rum praline, sparkly full-bodied, spirited, sweet notes, nice balance, vanilla, coffee cocoa, cinnamon, deep but not overpowering.wood barrel rum finish. Very nice.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2020 Copenhagen 23/4 2020. 25 cl bottle from Ølkassen web-shop. Yellow label with black letters spelling 'Yule Mælk Rum Barrel Aged' unevenly spaced across the label. Pours opaque dark brown with a small off-white head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is intense with a strong sugary sweetness, spicy bitter odor and a strong presence of alcohol. Brown sugar, molasses, leather, humid earth. Dark alcohol chiming in. Light carbonation. Thick, smooth, soft, viscous, fat, creamy texture. Flavor is intense and heavy sweet followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingering. Finish is loaded with dark alcohol and gives a healthy burn. Absurd to drink this on a sunny spring day. But an eminent Christmas boozer with a caress of dark alcohol.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2020 Bottle at home held against the bourbon version. Black body with a medium brown head. Chocolate, malt, rum, wood, caramel notes, alcohol notes, warming. Complex. Not as smooth and sweet as the bourbon version. Good.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2020 Last beer in the fridge before flying back home for CNY. And it's a big one! Well... need to clear the fridge! Pours black, with a firm beige head and lovely lacing. Powerful aroma of rum, chocolate and molasses. Tastes sweet, sticky, boozy, roasted barley, caramel, molasses, chocolate, oak and rum. Great flavour, very rich! Viscous and full bodied, quite sticky, no carbonation. It's a bomb, and it's excellent. Even better than the awesome Bourbon BA to me.
