COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This single hop pale ale showcases the Citra hop for a well balanced beer that is delicate in body with a mild bitterness in the finish. She roars with ferocious aromas of grapefruit, citrus, mango and evergreen. pseudoSue’s unique and addictive taste is clean and bright with just enough bite! Admin Note: Previously brewed as a 5.8% ABV offering, current and future batches are listed at 7% ABV per a tweak and translating the beer to a larger 30 bbl system. Tweaks may continue to change this ABV slightly as they settle on an official end product.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 I've got a 16 oz can of Pseudo Sue purchased at a local craft beer store a couple of weeks ago. NE style not one of my favorites but I can appreciate nonetheless. My snifter from a TX brewery is arrayed for the pour, a curious lemon-orange color with a wispy head of pure white foam. The nose is nice, tropical, hoppy and clean. I take a drink, well, this is getting better. Juice, pine cones, grapefruit, crackers, a slight dankness and pineapple. Better than expected.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2021 (Can) Pale amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy tan head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of mango, orange marmalade, apricots, dried pineapple and resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with mango, grapefruit, pineapple, orange marmalade, apricots, pine needles, caramel and a generous citric, piney bitterness. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and quite bitter with a rich hop presence, possibly a bit sharp and edgy. Very nice.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2021 Can 473ml @ Sommerhuset
Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, grape and pine. Taste is medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter with a long piney, grapefruit and citrus finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2021 What stands out for me is the clarity of style and balance - clean, crisp, not overly bitter, lots of nuance without getting cluttered. Superior beer.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2021 Draught - this is the real deal for the style. Murky pineapple juice appearance with a frothy white head. Nose is tropics, pineapple, melon and a dash of dank. Love the creamy feel with a slight peppery bite in the back. Good beer.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2021 Toppling Goliath x Field Museum Pseudo Sue Hazy APA 6% I didn’t know this was a collaboration with the Field Museum and it’s named after the famous T-Rex skeleton Sue! Lovely milky gold color with a soapy white foam that doesn’t linger. Nice zesty citrus juicy hop bouquet though a tad sharp. Sharp dry carbonation and a light body that to me doesn’t match the style. Overall, a really nice drop at a reasonable price in Japan.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2021 Can from Total Wine in San Jose near Cupertino (crazy huh?!). Rich nose pounding citra hop aroma. Wow. Really spectacular. Especially given Total Wines reputation of shelf aged IPAs, but this is fresh. Probably won’t last long. Pours a murky hazy golden color. I expect after a month, this will settle to a sludge, but today it is fresh and well integrated yeast haze. Body is medium to high oatmeal goodness. Lots of mango and pineapple flavors. Easy to drink. Fantastic and well deserving of its high ratings.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2021 Poured from the tap. Cloudy golden orange with white head. Citrusy grapefruit hops with feint pine. Quite nice.
