DiarmaidBHK (7594) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 5, 2022UPDATED: JAN 5, 2022 Bottle from Tree House Deerfield. Pours black with no head. Leaves no lacing in the glass. Definitely on the viscous side. Solid notes of chocolate and faint hints of cold brew which is coffee for people who don’t like coffee. Not my fave Tree House.
tfontana (3801) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 31, 2021UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Bottle pour from the brewery in Charlton. It's an inky black with nice viscosity no sparkle or head and no lacing. Aroma is hint of harsh alcohol, fairly subtle roasted malt. Neither getting strong chocolate nor coffee. Taste is sweet roasted earthy malt and bit of alcohol harshness. Mouthfeel is medium-to-full bodied with thick, sticky texture, soft carbonation, mild alcohol harshness in the finish. Overall, weirdly, the addition of the cacao nibs seems to detract from the 'chocolatey-ness' base Cold Brew--and alcohol comes through. Coffee is all but absent. WTF? How is this that different from previous rating 10/21? Not terrible as beers go but VERY disappointing as a TH Imperial Pastry Stout.
AirForceHops (12438) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 31, 2021UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 12 oz bottle shared by tfontana. Thanks big Pimp! Side by side with 3 other variants. Aroma shows earthy bakers chocolate. The flavor shows me deep earthy cacao. Not overwhelmed by chocolate here at all. To me it taste extremely earthy. Couldn’t even find the coffee. Almost like a little bit of dirt note. Not great at all.
bookman10 (3681) - Osseo, Minnesota, USA - OCT 18, 2021UPDATED: OCT 18, 2021 Pours a thick, dark brown-black, with smallish tan head. Aroma is chocolate and more chocolate, maybe a touch of coffee. Flavor is heavy on the chocolate, with some coffee aftertaste. Very, very sweet. Very soft, smooth, and full-bodied. The ABV is well-hidden.
