UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Bottle pour from the brewery in Charlton. It's an inky black with no sparkle or head, nice viscosity and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted coffee with hint of char quality that gets rescued by some chocolatey sweetness. Maybe even a hint of cinnamon. Taste is strong mix of chocolatey sweetness and roasted coffee in great balance. A bit of toffee as it warms and maybe some cinnamon. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick, sticky texture, soft carbonation and sweet finish as taste. Overall, a rich dessert sipper to be sure but the bitter roast is balanced nicely by the base stout.
