COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Launched to celebrate Unibroue's 11th Anniversary, 11 has a rich aroma reminiscent of ripe fruit and fig, and is accompanied by a delicate spicy after note. The taste is complex and its body more than generous. This unique strong beer is warm and intriguing whilst remaining smooth and delicate. With its 11% Alcohol, "11" is the highest alcohol content beer in Quebec. Produced in limited quantity and sold for a very minimal price for its quality, only about 6000 cases of this special brew will be sold.

Bottle drunk 5/11/17.
Soft, peach-tinged golden body shows a good clarity and large, white head with moderate retention.
Hmmm, I guess things got vegetal. This thing was aged properly by yours truly and while aging is usually a recipe for disaster, I’ve had some delicious Unibroues that were far older than this, not to mention this is 11% and a golden beer (which I feel oxidize far less problematically than dark ones). The aroma does have an odd combo of cotton candy, bubble gum and vegetal notes, probably actually autolysis. Otherwise, the strong pepper from their house yeast is here with low clove and still a good base of honey-rich malts. Alcohol is well-concealed.
Flavor-wise, I think the yeast autolysis is really dominating. While there is good phenolic character on the end in the form of pepper and other light spice, with strong fruity esters (apple, strawberry, pear, light peach), there’s just too much musty, earthy, nearly rusty flavor. Tired, but still amply carbonated with a soft, slick texture.

BB backlog, Bottle, hazy orange gold with average sized head and lacing. Notes of strong booze, sweet and boozy dark fruit, belgian spice and candy sugar. Apples as it warms. Medium bodied. Sold for a very minimal price for its quality....thats something you don’t hear every day.

Bouteille. [notes 2005]

Bottle - Vintage 2002 - Stone fruit and honey. Clearish gold with a small white head. Sweet fruity honey notes, light minty notes and a long sweet finish. Great for the age.

Bottle, shared at RBAG 2015, by Sid. Never thought I’d get the chance! Surprisingly bright golden. Aroma of barley candy, honey, touch of musty cork. Held up amazingly well for 2002 vintage!

Bottle (750 ml). Acquired via trade. Clear golden with a small quickly collapsing white head and no lacing. Aroma is fruity and boozy with cardboard. Taste is mostly of cardboard along with light fruits and boozy notes. Medium body. Low carbonation. This beer was supposed to have been well stored but that’s doubtful considering how bad it was. Definitely past is prime.

Bottle at the house. Thanks the TheBeerSommelier for this one. The last of the anniversary beers from Unibroue for me. This one is dead. No carb, oxidized to hell. Not much of an aroma. Flavor is cardboard and sherry. That’s pretty much what I expected but hoped it wouldn’t be, lol. I’m still surprised at how well these beers have held up. This is the only one I’ve had that has been totally flat, which is very impressive. Cheers!!!

Damico (3146) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Pours golden orangey hazy with plenty of floating sediment. The aroma has faded immensely, a bit of tropical fruit like Belgian yeast. The flavor has faded as well, a bit of citrus and malty lightly sweetened Belgian yeast.
