UPDATED: OCT 25, 2021 27 September 2021. At Cambrinus, Bruges. Cheers to Anke & my birthday! Clear golden, huge, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of pear, apple peel, white pepper, banana, clove, coriander, soap. Taste has sweet apple, banana & pear; spicy middle of grass, phenols & bready maltiness. Grassy hoppy finish, bit floral, spicy, ripe fruits lingering as well as jenever-like alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. I remember that, as a teenager, my dad used to drink this regularly at the same Cambrinus restaurant, and my inexperienced taste buds found this extremely bitter. Now a proper sample betrays its deeply Belgian profile but the hops present do provide a welcome bitterness.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2021 Nice light amber beer with white foam. Because of the name, I was expecting something like a Belgian IPA. Although I found nothing similar to a IPA, in the end I was not at all disappointed. I met instead a very good and well balanced golden strong Belgian ale.  Aroma and taste with a nice hint of coriander seeds, caramel and citrus. A very well integrated alcohol, always a very important thing for me when it comes to strong beers. I will drink it again at any time.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2020 330ml bottle at 2be, Bruges on 27/02/2011. Deep golden. Aroma of spicy hops, coriander seed, clove oil and pale malt. Fruity and resinous flavours with booziness coming through.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2020 Amberkleurig bier met witte schuimkraag. Tropisch fruit, mango en sinaasappel en licht kruidig. Redelijk koolzuurhoudend.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2020 Liquide orangé légèrement trouble avec petite mousse.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2020 I have purchased this beer, at bootlegger, Paris, the last year. Drinking and enjoying this too small bottle, at home, Epalinges, yesterday, after a walk, at Dizy. The color is orange/brown and a bit troubled. In my point of view, it is an excellent imperial ipa, well brewed and the first good sign is the alcool that it is discreet, a bit warm and not burning your throat. This one is fruity, malty, side of apricot/plum, touch of sweetness, hop rather basic but it was find for me.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2020 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a large throthy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of stoney fruits, apricot, apples, pears and some spice. Taste has more stoney fruit notes, more peppery spice, hints of floral and an earthy hop bitterness. Fairly light bodied, fizzy carbonation on the palate and a long fruity, spicy and earthy hop aftertaste. it’s pretty good but not as fresh as i was hoping.
