CloakedDagger (6559) - - MAR 4, 2020UPDATED: MAR 4, 2020 Bottle 33 cl. Pours opaque black with a tiny, rough, beige head - appears a little lifeless. Peat in the nose but also cattle manure - really smells like an old cowshed. Rich, sweet roast - close to flat. Massive, harsh roast, bitter Italian licorice and quite some peat, tar and iodine. Harsh, malt bitter finish. Extremely rough and rustic and to me way, way overrated. 040320

Aroma is rich, sweet and with a lightly peaty touch. Brown sugar and chocolate. Smoke and light roast. Salty whiff of sea water.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed b a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is surprisingly bitter. Finish is smoky and boozy. Like a den of debauchery.
A Imperial Stout quite on the bitter and smoky side. Not for everyone.
