larsga (7692) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 27, 2019
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2019 Medium beige head. Hazy opaque black body. Sweet toasty licorice taste with smoky notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, smooth, low carbonation mouthfeel. Dryish licorice and cough drop aftertaste with smoky mineraly chocolatey notes. Aftertaste is relatively short, but the overall flavour is complex, interesting, and very well balanced. An excellent beer!

Finn (14467) - Tromsø, NORWAY - APR 12, 2019
UPDATED: APR 12, 2019 Svart. Lavt tett skum med litt farge. Lakrisaroma. Smaken røkt torv. Lite annet - men grei nok.

Rune (21325) - Tromso, NORWAY - MAR 16, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2019 330ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Dissipating fawn-coloured head. Deep dark brown body, clingy lacing. Nicely roasted mid-sweet malty aroma, carefully smoked. Pleasing taste profile of dark malts, prunes, dark bread and ash. Roasted mid-sweet malt-driven tail. Oily texture. Medium to full bodied. Enjoying. (Tromsø 16.03.2019).

NORSAND (190) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - MAR 22, 2017
Deep, dark coffee colour. Short lived beige head. Nose: A lot of freshly roasted coffee. Dark roasted malt, some smoke (not much). Taste: Again a lot of freshly roasted coffee, medium rich carbonation, moderate to low bitterness, slight sweetness. Very well balanced. The aftertaste is more of the same plus some nice, citric acidity. Medium bodied. A very well made "coffee porter" (or even "coffee cream stout"). Not sure about the traditional smokehouse element (smoked hops) here, though. That seems to have eluded me. Perhaps it was overpowered by the nice specialty malts...?

Palme (5034) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 15, 2016
On tap @ Bergen Ølfestival 2014. A near black looking one this with a nice big brown lasting head. Yupp, it’s beefy and smoked on the nose. Not overwhelming but present for sure. Chocolate with roasted malts and traces of ash in the taste. Not bad. Quite tasty. Chocolate dominates but it’s quite smoky as well. Soft on the bubbles and gliding slippy the mouth. Sweet milk chocolate finish. A good one. 05.09.2014

Holmen1 (11088) - Stavanger, NORWAY - MAY 13, 2016

From tap at Fleischer’s Hotel, Voss, with JMD, OGJ, KH and KSS 07.05.16.Ebony. Pale brown head. Aroma of dark malt and creosote. Similar taste, with more smoke and creosote. Balanced with moderate bitterness and dark brittle. Good!

visionthing (7277) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 23, 2016
On tap at Café Sara, Oslo. Looks pretty black to me. A small beige head is present on top. Moderate roasty and mild smoky aroma with dark chocolate, dark fruits and hints of coffee. Moderate sweet with nice roasty flavours, a hint of acidity and a somewhat dry finish. Tasty and easy drinking.

Beer5000 (9502) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 21, 2015
On tap @ Bøker & Børst. More than less black body with a nice, lacing beige head. Aroma of dark, roasted malt, chocolate and smoke. Flavor is medium sweet dark, roasted malt with smoke, coffee and hint of citric fruit, moderate bitterness. Fine balanved body and average aftertaste. Nice but not extraordinary smoked porter.
