UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 Bottle 33 cl. Pours surprisingly thick and syrupy (considering its moderate strength) clear black with a burgundy hue and a smallish, beige head. Roasty nose, a little greasy. Thick, roasty body, English licorice and tar, a hint of tar with a solid bitterness from both malts and hops. A bit rough, reminds me of old fashioned Baltic Porters. On the other hand its nice with an Imperial Stout that's not cloyingly sweet. 100122

Rich and dry-sweet, slightly syrupy-sticky and smooth, with bitter cocoa, more liquorice and a herbal bitterness in the finish. Unusual and rather nice...

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2020 Ordentliche Schaumentwicklung mit recht feinporiger Konsistenz und dunkler Farbe. Die Farbe des Bieres ist pechschwarz. Riecht röstig, ölig, Bitterrschokolade, Lakritz. Kaum rezent, öliges Mundgefühl, von Beginn an übertrieben sauer. Dazu recht röstig, im Vergleich zu anderen Bieren dieser Kategorie aber wirklich harmlos. Der Abgang ist leicht bitter und von eher mäßiger Dauer. Über Allem liegt dieser saure, unangenehme Grundton. Schade, da das Bier sowohl optisch als auch in der Nase durchaus ansprechend ist.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2020 Dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of cocoa puffs, roasted grains, honey. To the mild side though. Taste has a nondescript sweetness up front. Finishes with a sudden, short, sharp sourness that disappears in a watery backwash. Way too little character for a beer of this oomph, and what there is doesn’t gel. The alcohol is well disguised, but then again, so is anything interesting. Disappointing.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2019 The beer has got a deep black colour with a steady head and smooth body. Aroma of chocolate and plums. Taste of roasted malt, barley, bittersweet chocolate, espresso and cream. Smooth finish.

Opaque amber brown, tall frothy beige head, half-way lasting, heavy lacing; aroma toasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, hint of smoke; taste medium sweet and mild bitter, roasty, coffee, chocolate; semi dry sweetbitter finish, earthy notes; medium body, watery to oily texture, alcohol well-hidden; very good imperial stout.
