Craft beer brewed since 1456. Recognised in 1815 for giving "strength" during the battle of Waterloo, its old style brewing gives this beer a powerful, spicy taste.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2021 Bottle, as Waterloo Double Dark. Dark red with a beige foam, caramel, a little liquorice, coffee and toast. Sweet and rather gassy, slightly thin, boozy, not bad but could do with more body.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2020 Nose. Fruits, spices, yeast, notes of caramel and chocolate. Taste. Sweetish, dried fruit, caramel, fried notes. hop bitterness and caramel notes in the aftertaste. Good balance of everything in taste and aroma. Nice dark ale, but slightly commercial.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2020 Donkerbruin tegen het zwarte bier, met een beige schuimkraag. Metaalgeur waarneembaar. Voornamelijk in eerste instnatie zoetig, moutig en in de afdronk komt de bitterheid. Met name koffiesmaak en caramel.
