UPDATED: JUL 23, 2021 500 ml bottle from the brewery, picked up by Keir. Thanks again! Pours a deep, dark brown with a small tan head that settles into a thin ring and four small islands of film. Notes of coconut, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, and booze. Seems like the dark chocolate element really emerges here when I expected more coconut. Or at least that’s how I’m perceiving it. Medium-full bodied, with modest carbonation and a rich, sweet, chewy, coating mouthfeel. Excellent.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2021 1/2 pour on tap at the brewery. It's an opaque black with no sparkle, finger-width tan head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong coconut balanced with chocolate and sweet malts. Taste has good strength mirroring aroma with additional hint of fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, syrupy (not in a bad way) texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a dessert sipper, to be sure, but good balance evoking delicious German chocolate cake that doesn't go over the top.
